The silhouette of the building is inspired by the admiration to the architectural structures of the famous Spaniard Santiago Calatrava. At the same time the project aims at integrating the hall into the urban environment of Devin, a typical town in the region, and making an allusion to the hills of Rhodope mountains. The rich use of glass gives a sense of huge space and more air and a visual connection with the surrounding mountains. Inside the hall for competitions the sunlight is limited so as not to irritate players. Typical for the region materials like stone and white plaster are used. Metal components are coated in brown in order to achieve a sense of wooden construction.
